Money Magazine: Ranks 5 Iowa Towns on Top 100 Places to Live
Money Magazine published its 2011 list of "100 best places to live in America," highlighting towns across the US with populations of 50,000 or less. When they ranked the towns, editors looked for places with the ideal combination of job opportunities, fiscal strength, top-notch schools, safe streets, good health care, cultural and outdoor activities, and weather.
Five Iowa towns made this year's Money Magazine top 100 places to live: Johnston was 13, Urbandale was 72, North Liberty was 74, Ankeny was 86 and Bettendorf was 95.
The magazine editors ranked the towns based on median family income, sales tax rate, state income tax rate, auto insurance premiums and job growth.
